Massachusetts Buttock Implants - The Plastic Surgery Procedure
This surgical procedure also called gluteoplasty or buttock augmentation. It is designed to reshape the size of your buttocks and create more firm and aesthetic appearance. The buttock area is not easily changed by weight reduction or exercise, therefore you may consider this operation to improve the look of your buttock. In general, every person wishing to undergo the operation, and is in a good physical condition, can do so.

During the operation the surgeon inserts silicon implants into your gluteal area. Unlike breast implants, these are soft and solid, their shape and size vary, according to individual body form and desires.

Massachusetts Buttock Implants - The Implants
There are few kinds of implants: round or oval (also called an anatomic implant). The most common implants are those made of silicon. It comes with a smooth or textured surface and they are solid (meaning: they rarely spill or rupture). The selection of an implant is usually made according to the surgeon's advice and your preference.

Massachusetts Buttock Implants - Insertion Locations
The incision for the implant insertion can be made in several locations: two excisions, either on the superior buttocks or inferior buttock near the posterior thigh. Both incisions leave a quite visible scar. One excision is made in the sacrum area, it goes from top down, and is usually small (4-6cm). The only problem is that such incision tends to become infected more often; this can be treated with antibiotics. The implant can be placed above or below the gluteal muscles. Finally, a liposuction can be added to this procedure to further shape your buttocks.

This procedure is preformed under general anesthesia and usually lasts one hour, liposuction may require an additional half hour (consult local Massachusetts surgeon).

Massachusetts Buttock Implants - Risks
Every procedure has its risks: this one includes bleeding, infection, nerve and/or muscle damage and damage to the implants, such as silicon spillage and buttock asymmetry.

Massachusetts Buttock Implants - After Surgery
After surgery you will feel pain and discomfort, and you will be prescribed with painkillers. You also have to wear a special bandage for 2-3 weeks to help your buttocks gain their new look. Occasionally you may feel either temperature changes or numbness in the area. This will resolve after a few months. It may take about 3 months for the swelling to resolve and the buttocks to regain their final appearance. You'll be able to go back to full activity after one month. Since the implants are placed far from the bony area you will have no trouble sitting. Finally, the implants will give your butt the look like you have been working out for years.

  • Massachusetts By train

Boston is the northern terminus of the Northeast Corridor, the most heavily trafficked rail route in the country, and one of the few routes serviced by Amtrak with a high frequency of service. Trains from New York reach Boston in about 3.5 hours; trains from Washington take about twice as long. The faster Acela trains shave about an hour off those journeys, and although they cost more, they generally present a more enjoyable trip. You can reach the eastern portion of the state from Boston's South Station by taking the MBTA commuter rail.

Central and Western Massachusetts are also served by Amtrak, although less frequently. Typically train journeys from New York to Springfield or Worcester require a change at New Haven, Connecticut.

  • Massachusetts Understand

Massachusetts is an excellent travel destination, noted for many of its historical sites as well as diverse regional flavors. The eastern Massachusetts Bay area of the state from Gloucester to Plymouth is very metropolitan, with Boston at its hub. Here you can find great cooking, fresh seafood, and an intense concentration of colleges and universities.

To the south of Boston is Cape Cod, a tremendously popular vacation spot and home to the Kennedy family, one of America's more influential political families. West of Boston you'll find the Blackstone Valley National Corridor, a vast expanse of rolling hills and small towns, as well as some of the most unique vineyards in the East Coast.

To the far west, you'll find more rural areas, the Berkshire Hills, the Appalachian Trail, and excellent skiing. Massachusetts has a lot to offer the prospective traveller!

Plastic Surgery News...

  • Recently Jonathan S. Steinberg, MD, Chief, Division of Cardiology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, used an investigational, endoscopically guided laser catheter to treat "short-circuiting" heart tissue that was causing a potentially dangerous arrhythmia. It was the first time this minimally invasive procedure has been performed in the Northeast.

  • For children who struggle to learn language, the choice between various interventions may matter less than the intensity and format of the intervention, a new study sponsored by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) suggests. The study, led by Ronald B. Gillam, Ph.D., of Utah State University is online in the February 2008 "Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research." NIDCD is one of the National Institutes of Health.
