Liposuction Procedure

The procedure can "sculpture " your body by removing extra fat from tummy, buttocks, arms, knees, cheeks and neck.. You must remember that liposuction is not an alternative for diet and exercise, it's main target is to help remove extra fat from areas in which fat reduction cannot be done successfully by dieting.

The ideal candidates for the surgery are people with normal weight, elastic skin and areas of "fat pockets" in their body. There are no age limits but older people has less elastic skin and therefore might get results that are worse then the younger patients.

Liposuction can be done by several techniques: solution injection - in which the surgeon injects a special solution to the fat tissue. The solution consists of anesthetics to reduce pain. Adrenalin to reduce bleeding and fluid to help separate the fat from the tissue.

The tumescent technique - much larger amounts of solution is being injected. Surgeons use this method, which allows to inject large amounts of anesthetics, and therefore this kind of procedure can be done with local anesthetics. The operation usually takes longer than the first one (4-5 hours).

The super wet technique in which the amount of solution injected equals the amount of fat tissue removed. This method also takes longer time and has to be done with general anesthetics.

Ultrasound assisted lipoplasty is another technique in which sound waves targeted to fat tissue. The waves break the connection between the fat cells, which are then being removed by suction. This method can be used in areas with connective tissue like the back and male breasts and also in areas that require more precise suction.

After the surgery to avoid swelling the areas of the suction will have elastic bandages. The surgeon may also leave draining tubes to prevent fluid collection. You might also receive antibiotics to prevent an infection.

Every surgery has its complications. In liposuction of 5 liter of fat and more there is a risk of fat or clot emboli to the lungs and even death. Extra fluids might be difficult to remove. The suction tube may cause skin necrosis or alter sensation in the area due to nerve damage. The ultrasound technique regarded as relatively safe produces, but it is a new one therefore the long term damage still unknown. In general, the surgery presents an extra rick for patients with diabetes, lung and heart disease and for those who had similar procedure in the past.

  • Honduras History

Part of Spain's vast empire in the New World, Honduras became an independent nation on 15 September 1821.

After two and one-half decades of mostly military rule, a freely elected civilian government came to power in 1982. During the 1980s, Honduras was a haven for the Reagan-sponsored anti-Sandinista contras fighting the Sandinista government of Nicaragua and an ally to Salvadoran government forces fighting against leftist guerrillas.

The country was devastated by Hurricane Mitch in 1998, which killed about 5,600 people and caused almost $1 billion in damage, affecting seriously the development of the country and its main infrastructures.

  • Honduras Understand

Honduras is a poor country where tourism is still underdeveloped. Good amenities can be found in cities like Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and La Ceiba but elsewhere conditions can be primitive, especially in the rural areas. You can find good hotels even in small towns if you are willing to pay a bit more (Honduras is not really an expensive country). Nevertheless a visit is worthwhile, especially to the ancient Maya ruins in Cop?n, the colonial towns of Gracias and Comayagua and the fantastic Caribbean Coast.

  • Objective  To identify the optimal surgical method for managing blowout fractures of the inferior orbital wall by analyzing the location and type of fracture based on computed tomographic findings and medical records. Methods  Medical records of 102 patients with pure inferior blowout fractures who were treated between June 1996 and December 2005 were reviewed regarding fracture type and location and surgical approach. Results  Ocular symptoms persisted in 14 of the 102 cases after surgery, and revision procedures were performed in 11 of those cases. Cases with persistent symptoms were analyzed in terms of fracture location and type of surgery. For anterior orbital floor fractures, symptoms persisted in 2 of the 4 cases treated using a transantral approach, while no symptoms persisted in any of the 15 cases treated using a transorbital approach or in either of the 2 cases treated using a combined approach. For posterior orbital floor fractures, symptoms persisted in 2 of the 31 cases treated using a transantral approach, in 4 of the 6 cases treated using a transorbital approach, and in 1 of the 19 cases treated using a combined approach. For anteroposterior orbital floor fractures, symptoms persisted in 2 of the 5 cases treated using a transorbital approach and in 3 of the 20 cases treated using transantral and combined approaches. Conclusion  Patients with large orbital floor fractures or posterior half fractures of the orbit should undergo surgery via a transantral or a combined approach, while patients with trapdoor fractures or anterior half fractures of the orbit should undergo surgery via a transorbital or a combined approach.
