Liposuction Procedure

The procedure can "sculpture " your body by removing extra fat from tummy, buttocks, arms, knees, cheeks and neck.. You must remember that liposuction is not an alternative for diet and exercise, it's main target is to help remove extra fat from areas in which fat reduction cannot be done successfully by dieting.

The ideal candidates for the surgery are people with normal weight, elastic skin and areas of "fat pockets" in their body. There are no age limits but older people has less elastic skin and therefore might get results that are worse then the younger patients.

Liposuction can be done by several techniques: solution injection - in which the surgeon injects a special solution to the fat tissue. The solution consists of anesthetics to reduce pain. Adrenalin to reduce bleeding and fluid to help separate the fat from the tissue.

The tumescent technique - much larger amounts of solution is being injected. Surgeons use this method, which allows to inject large amounts of anesthetics, and therefore this kind of procedure can be done with local anesthetics. The operation usually takes longer than the first one (4-5 hours).

The super wet technique in which the amount of solution injected equals the amount of fat tissue removed. This method also takes longer time and has to be done with general anesthetics.

Ultrasound assisted lipoplasty is another technique in which sound waves targeted to fat tissue. The waves break the connection between the fat cells, which are then being removed by suction. This method can be used in areas with connective tissue like the back and male breasts and also in areas that require more precise suction.

After the surgery to avoid swelling the areas of the suction will have elastic bandages. The surgeon may also leave draining tubes to prevent fluid collection. You might also receive antibiotics to prevent an infection.

Every surgery has its complications. In liposuction of 5 liter of fat and more there is a risk of fat or clot emboli to the lungs and even death. Extra fluids might be difficult to remove. The suction tube may cause skin necrosis or alter sensation in the area due to nerve damage. The ultrasound technique regarded as relatively safe produces, but it is a new one therefore the long term damage still unknown. In general, the surgery presents an extra rick for patients with diabetes, lung and heart disease and for those who had similar procedure in the past.

  • Thailand Culture Wat Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai

Mainland Thai culture is heavily influenced by Buddhism. However, unlike the Buddhist countries of East Asia, Thailand's Buddhists follow the Therevada school, which is arguably closer to its Indian roots and places a heavier emphasis on monasticism. Thai temples known as wats, resplendent with gold and easily identifiable thanks to their ornate, multicolored, pointy roofs are ubiquitous and becoming an orange-robed monk for a short period, typically the three-month rainy season, is a common rite of passage for young Thai boys and men.

  • Thailand History

A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only South-East Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power, and fiercely proud of the fact. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy. In alliance with Japan during World War II, Thailand became a US ally following the conflict. After a string of military dictatorships and quickly toppled civilian presidents, Thailand finally stabilized into a fair approximation of a democracy and the economy, hobbled by the 1997 Asian economic crisis, is booming once again. Above it all presides the King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), the world's longest-reigning monarch and a deeply loved and respected figure of near-mythic proportions.

In September 2006, a swift and bloodless military coup endorsed by the King overthrew the previous democratically elected but widely criticized government, promising elections in late 2007. Although martial law still applies and political gatherings are restricted, there has been no violence, no curfews are in effect, there is no longer any significant military presence in public places, and all services are functioning normally.

  • A study published early online in Thorax has explored the relationship between montelukast and the onset of Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS), a rare small-vessel vasculitis that is potentially life-threatening. This follows concerns that this condition might be precipitated by the drug. Researchers retraced the medication histories of 78 CSS patients from France and Germany and compared exposures to montelukast and other asthma medications during the 3-month 'index' period immediately preceding CSS onset with those of 4 previous 3-month 'control' periods. The odds ratio (OR + 95% CI) for CSS onset were as follows: • 4.5 (1.5 to 13.9) for montelukast • 3.0 (0.8 to 10.5) for inhaled long-acting beta2-agonists • 1.7 (0.5 to 5.4) for inhaled corticosteroids • 4.0 (1.3 to 12.5) for oral corticosteroids Montelukast exposure during control periods increased over 3 consecutive calendar periods of CSS onset from 1999 to 2003 (p for trend = <0.0001). The researchers note from these findings that though montelukast was associated with over a 4 fold higher risk of CSS onset within 3 months, the estimates obtained for the other asthma medicines (though only statistically significant for oral corticosteroids) examined suggest that “this link is confounded by a general escalation of asthma therapy before CSS onset” and the montelukast-CSS association observed is also likely to be explained by its increasing use over time.” They conclude “taken together, these findings might suggest that the association with CSS onset is not specific to montelukast but a phenomenon possibly associated with the group of medications prescribed for long-term control of severe asthma.”
